How he approaches knee pain

Dr. Ronald Barreto trained as a surgeon at the University of São Paulo and still operates. Over more than fifteen years his practice widened, because surgery remained one tool among several: rehabilitation, image-guided interventions and regenerative options, each with its own indication. The aim is to understand the case before choosing the tool.

The operation I know best is a poor reason to choose it.

Why the cause comes first

In 2015 his wife had a pain he could not explain, and he was already a surgeon. A physiotherapist looked at how she moved and found something he had not been assessing. That moment changed what he studied next: biomechanics, pain and regenerative medicine, added to the surgical training he already had.

After more than fifteen years treating knees in Brazil, he brought the same question with him to Dubai: what may be driving this person's pain, and what does this person need from the treatment?
